This is so very true. In my personal experience and study of trauma I’ve learned that we feel powerless to change ourselves or keep ourselves safe in a world which hurt us (intentionally or unintentionally). Part of relieving suffering is realizing our ability to change our perspective, if nothing else. Our brains are biologically designed to be ‘plastic’, flexible, changeable. When we cannot change our circumstance it’s helpful to realize we can literally change our mind.! 😉

I think the root is the inability for the soul to find peace and that is fueled by we not having close rapport with God
